Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system with an indexed-pilot channel estimation

In this paper, we examine an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system under imperfect channel conditions and pilot-insertion- based estimation. However, unlike conventional pilot-insertion-based estimation, some inserted pilot symbols are set to zero where the index of zero-pilot is employed transmit extra data bits. employ a minimum mean squared error (MMSE) detect transmitted symbols; these then used estimate coefficients. Furthermore, impact on mean-squared estimation performance examined. Our findings show that can be improve throughput by carrying information bits without harming accuracy or degrading performance. Simulation results that, at high signal-to-noise ratio, bit rate for via selection lower than over subcarriers.
